The USDA-RD/FSA Resales web site provides current information about single- and multi-family homes and farms and ranches for sale by the U.S. Federal Government. These previously owned properties are for sale by public auction or other method depending on the property. Anyone can buy a home for sale by the U.S. Government, but you must work with a real estate agent, broker, or servicing representative to submit an offer or bid. Click one of the search types provided (Single Family Housing, Multi Family Housing, or Farm/Ranch) to begin looking at the available properties the USDA has to offer.
Currently the U.S. Department of Agriculture - Rural Development (USDA-RD) and U.S. Department of Agriculture - Farm Service Agency (USDA-FSA) have properties listed on this site. Learn how to buy these properties.
For additional information regarding property listings, please contact the corresponding agency, found on the Agency Contact Information page.
A text version of this site is also available for those who require it.
Explore the properties for sales from the USDA-RD/FSA by interacting with the map that will appear once a Property Type is chosen (Single Family Housing, Multi Family Housing, or Farm/Ranch). This is a completely dynamic map of the United States and its territories, but you must select states and counties to see the properties for sale -- simply zooming in/out on the map will not display any results.
State/County Dropdown: The state dropdown will show the available states that currently have properties in them. Following the state name is the number of properties in parenthases. Similarly, once a state is selected, the available couties that currently have properties in them are shown. Following the county name is the number of properties in parenthases.
Property: Hover over an icon to get basic address details for that particular property. Click on the address details and the application will move to the selected result.
Map Identify: This icon toggles the ability to simply click on the map to select a state or county as an alternative to using the State/County Dropdown.
Panning: Users may pan the map using the arrows on the Navigation panwheel, located in the upper left-hand corner of the application. Clicking on the arrows will pan the map in the north / south / east / west direction. Additionally, clicking on the space in the Navigation panwheel between the main direction arrows will pan the map in the northeast / northwest / southeast / southwest direction.
Full extent: Clicking on the globe in the middle of the Navigation panwheel will zoom users back to the full extent of the map.
Zooming In/Out: Users may use the Zoom slider, located below the Navigation panwheel to zoom in and out on the map. Additionally, the plus and minus buttons located on the top and bottom of the Zoom slider may be used to zoom in and out on the map.
